Havasu weather remains warm even in the fall. Right now, we sit pretty at a comfortable 80+F. It’s the perfect weather to partake in great outdoor activities. This weekend, you have the opportunity to enjoy Lake Havasu seaplanes and some IPAs, if you so desire. The London Bridge Seaplane Classic takes place at Lake Havasu State Park from Friday to Sunday. But you can take a break from the Lake Havasu seaplanes on Saturday afternoon to enjoy some finely crafted brews at the Chillin ‘N Swillin Beer Festival over in Rotary Park.

This ain’t your daddy’s RC plane! Believe it or not, radio-controlled planes can be traced back as far as the late 1800’s. But today’s RC planes showcase great acrobatic agility that rivals even their real-life counterparts. Hundreds of RC enthusiasts travel from all over the country just to participate in the London Bridge Seaplane Classic. You can watch these hobbyists fly aircraft of all sizes and shapes absolutely free of charge. If you have a craft of your own, register now. Show off your piloting skills above Lake Havasu. You have until tomorrow (October 31st) to register online. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until the day of the event to register in person. Pre-registration costs $45. If you wait until the day of, it’ll cost you $50.

Do you enjoy the crisp taste of a German pilsner? Or would you prefer a Belgian ale or IPA? Does your mouth water at the thought of throwing back a wheat beer or porter? Or do you like to sip a dark lager? You’ll find them all at the Chillin ‘N Swillin Beer Festival. Of course, you must be at least 21 years old to participate. Make sure you have a valid photo ID with you before you leave home, too. Vendors range from Barley Brothers to That Brewery, with 21 others in between.
To get the best price, purchase your tickets ahead of time ($25 per person). They cost another $5 each at the door. We love our designated drivers since they make sure we get home safe. So, they pay just $10 to enter. You can purchase your tickets online here OR visit Mudshark’s, The Office, College Street Brewhouse or Barley Brothers to get them in person. All sales are final.
There’s more to living at the lake than water sports. Fun can be found above, below and adjacent to the water any time of the year.
